Employment Insurance Obligation

Foreign-invested companies employing domestic workers must enroll in employment insurance under the Employment Insurance Act, subject to the same rules as domestic companies.

Covered Employees

All businesses with 1 or more employees must enroll. Corporate representatives (CEOs) are not considered employees and are not covered.

Premium Rates

As of 2026, the unemployment insurance premium rate is 0.9% each for employer and employee.
